- 2008 Race Wrap-Up
- Over $12,500 Raised!
"Despite the current economy and regardless of predicted thunderstorms, over 430 participants turned out to make the running of the 5th Annual Derrill's Race a huge success. We anticipated a lower number of entrants on race day due to the weather, but were thrilled to see the response of the local community and the runners who continue to make Derrill's Race a "must run" event. Our final figure is not in yet, but we can confidently say that well over $12,500 will be donated to our charities this year.
We cannot begin to thank all the businesses and individuals who so generously volunteered their time and resources, and many, many businesses who have financially supported the race. Please help support our local businesses who are ALWAYS first to support events such as this. We will once again offer race photos online for purchase. The proceeds from all photo purchases are also donated to Derrill's Race, thanks to Officer Alan Schaedel and Cherished Moments Photography. See you next year!" ~ The 2008 Derrill's Race Committee

Derrill's Race is a 5-K Run/Walk benefit road race held annually, the first Sunday in May, on the Manhan Rail Trail in Easthampton, Massachusetts. Derrill's Race offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the beautiful rail trail as your race course, traveling along the tree-lined path bordering the Lower Mill Pond, past the historic Eastworks mill, approaching the Oxbow and Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary.
Whether you're a serious competitive runner, a team of friends or co-workers who want to have fun while donating to a great cause, or a family out for a stroll and community spirit, Derrill's Race is THE place to be on Sunday, May 3, 2009!
